Getting rid of breaching accounts

In coming days, we’re banning accounts that breach our Fair Usage Policy stated in Terms & Conditions. Those account owners won’t be able to log in and/or their IPs will be added to ban list. Of course there won’t be refunds.

We planned to do this many years ago. But at the time the number of breachers are not enormous compared to real users. Considering the worse situation right now, in order to protect ourselves and our prestigious real users, we have to implement the ban.

As you can see there are so many breachers in the GPL community that sometimes there is hardly any difference between real GPL providers and thief sites. This leads to many consequences:

  • Most GPL websites now have exactly the same depositories.
  • No new items are added because we already know they would be stolen.
  • User experience goes downhill when real users spend their money on thief sites.

So, for the sake of concerned parties, we decide to do this. If you can’t log in your account, please be aware that they’re banned forever.

I am sorry that the team needs to take this step to remove these breachers. In the meantime, thanks for providing the service, and keep up the excellent work!
